On February 23, 2011 we had our Pink shirt day, a silent protest against bullying. I am honored that so many of our community members joined in wearing pink this day.
We could only order 200 pink shirts but to my surprise many community members who did not have the anti-bullying shirt still wore pink which was the goal of this event.
We wore pink shirts to support the “sea of pink” an anti-bullying cause which was first started by two teens from Nova Scotia high school. David Shepherd and Travis Price bought and distributed 50 pink shirts after a student was bullied for wearing a pink shirt on the first day of school.
After they first started this cause many community schools began to support the cause and protest against bullying.
Together we are all united; together we stand and make a small difference
Thank you all for your support and help in the cause I am proud to be among the community members who made a difference on this day thank you again!
